What is character design?

Character designer, character design or character creator1 is a term used particularly in the world of animation, comics, cinema and television series, as well as in video games, to refer to a person responsible for creating the graphic, animated and sometimes psychological characteristics of the characters in a project. The character designer may also be the person (or one of the people) responsible for representing the characters they have created throughout the project, but their work consists primarily of imagining a graphic representation of the characters.

We invite you to discover the practice of character design with character drawing exercises and a common theme based on archetypes.
