#5 “Chara design” summer internship

This internship is supervised by:

Marie Avril : Illustrator, comic book author, and 2D artist since 2009. She has signed two albums with Futuropolis editions, including the latest (“Divine, vies(s) de Sarah Bernhardt”) and works with Dupuis and Lombard for the press and short stories. A freelance artist, she has created concepts and illustrations for novels, board games, video games, and 2D animation projects. Marie regularly participates in the École des Nouvelles Images.

What is Charadesign?

Character designer , chara design or character designer 1 , is a term used in particular in the world of animation, comics, cinema and television series, as well as in video games, to designate a person responsible for creating the graphic, animation, and sometimes psychological charter of the characters of a project. The character designer can also be the person (or one of the people) who must represent the characters he has created throughout the project, but his work consists above all in imagining a graphic representation of the characters.

Marie offers to introduce you to the practice of character design with character drawing exercises and a common theme on archetypes. You will explore different ways of drawing morphologies, costumes, and giving a personality to your characters. The opportunity to discover or improve your skills on digital tools with a graphics tablet and Photoshop digital drawing software.

Hours: 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. // 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Minimum age: 13 years

Minimum number required: 7 participants (We reserve the right to cancel the workshop if the number of candidates is lower. A full refund will then be made to those registered)

Lunch :

A place is available to store and reheat your meals. You can have your lunch on the school premises.
